Margot Richardson obituary

My kind, funny, beautiful friend Margot Richardson, who has died from cancer aged 56, was one of those seemingly ordinary women who make an extraordinary difference. Born and raised in Turramurra, Australia, Margot escaped to England in her early 20s and eventually settled in bohemian Brighton.She was one of life's doers, always keen to try something new. Margot started off doing veterinary science at university but changed direction and had a highly successful career as a journalist, writer, book editor and designer. Along the way, she worked for the Sydney Morning Herald, as senior commissioning editor for William Heinemann and as marketing and communications manager at the Centre for Community Engagement, University of Sussex.She was one of the pioneers of charity bike rides, being
