Internet Dating 101: Even More Reasons You Don't Hear Back From Them
The response rate can be incredibly low. On a site with a good percentage of legitimate users, if you get a response rate of around 1-3%, you're doing good. If you have a response rate of 5%, you're doing pretty amazing. So, out of 100 first contacts, be thankful for the 1-3 that do respond (of which I'll presume they are not merely responding to say they are not interested).
